The Label

Solo in Public is a ready-to-wear menswear label founded by Ryan Lawson. The label brings the precision of generational European craftsmanship to the relaxed aesthetic of Californian living. The approach is fabric-first, crafting modern silhouettes from fine materials.

Each piece begins with the cloth. Solo in Public sources from European mills with long histories in fine textiles, and each material is chosen for its weight, its hand, and the way it settles with wear. The fabric decides the garment, and the cut follows.

Production takes place in small, family-run workshops in Italy, where the craft has passed from one generation to the next. Runs are kept short by design. The same hands that cut a garment see it through to the final stitch.

The silhouettes are relaxed. They’re shaped by Milan and Los Angeles but belong fully to neither. The clothes are made to be worn often, kept for years, and to soften with time.
